International day celebration was an opportunity to teach our children about the various cultures around the world and learn about family histories. We celebrated the diversity of 14 nationalities that make up the KK community and were optimistic that this will bring about greater respect for different cultures. Children who are introduced to multicultural environment at a young age learn to accept others' perspectives. They learn to respect the different ways things are done that are as valuable as theirs and help them understand people around them better in future. We instilled the spirit of embracing multicultural values in our children so that they grow up with good values and appreciate each other while bringing about a feeling of oneness and communal harmony. This celebration gave us a reason to enjoy, mingle, live peaceful moments and nurture bonds between families and friends that we share the earth with. International stalls were put up by parents and it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase and share information about the unique aspects of their country, cultural souvenirs, memorabilia, flag colours, clothes, interesting artifacts and other fascinating traditional items which created immense curiosity in children as celebration of internationalism went on for the entire week. Each class visited and scrutinize the stalls before the event day. Our Kidz Kollege stars presented amazing items on stage with great confidence.
Passports were issued with personal photographs and everyone had to visit the stalls to get a stamp of confirmation. Did you get your Kidz Kollege passport stamped at the stalls? This was the question asked to all around the premises. Children were taught what a passport meant and how important a document it is.
Stole the show as tears rolled down many from the message relayed. It was a strong one - to all the parents who should be role models as good children in order to receive the same care from their children.
By the parents added another feather on the cap. Some represented Zanzibar whilst others came on stage with flags of Tanzania, Libya, United Kingdom, India, Cuba, Syria, Pakistan, Iran, Canada, Portugal, Hawai, China and many more.
We thank all the parents who volunteered their time to enrich the life of our school. Parents and guests had an opportunity to tour around the fascinating country stalls and enjoyed the tasty food at the "International Buffet". This was an unforgettable event that we celebrated together.
