September marks the annual international childhood cancer awareness! Kidz Kollege kicked off a thrilling campaign drive cause the children of today deserve a tomorrow and NO CHILD SHOULD FIGHT CANCER ALONE. With a goal to raise funds for childhood cancer, the school encouraged parents' community to Go Gold in collaboration with TLM (Tumaini La Maisha) along with Ms. Sandra Manek (the plant for life lady). We are delighted to be ambassadors of childhood cancer and believe in instilling good values in our children. This was certainly the perfect time to practice those values and impact the world we share while leaving a legacy. We linked the fundraiser with a fun time event to promote a healthy lifestyle. It was a fantastic way to rally parents, families and friends to support a unified noble cause and a great mood booster.

DAY 1 It was but astonishing to see the spirit and energy. Zumba is absolutely a work out that's good for the heart, mind, body and soul. Mr. Trushal Vara a high-energy Zumba instructor was on his toes making the day fun yet challenging. He made the participants sweat but feel good and happy. All the participants had smiles after the session. It was a great honour to have Dr. Trish the TLM C.E.O. address the crowd.
DAY 2 It was cool to see the athletes swimming lengths of the pool with great enthusiasm. We were so moved by the incredible spirit! The participants thoroughly enjoyed the flexible swim laps, squeezing the sponge at the car wash station and the rain sprinklers. This was absolutely a great sight to see, lots of splashing and laughter was heard as parents were bonding with their children.
DAY 3 The Jogathons kept the energy going as it began with the warm up jumping jacks. The superheroes were all ready to jog alongside the crowd and kept everyone motivated. Cheer pom poms were around the premises to cheer and support. Childhood cancer awareness spirit was absolutely bolstered. Each time the crowd completed a round, they were motivated with a sign tracker of completed laps. All the participants were jogging on the same spot with one message on their flags which read "WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER".
DAY 4 Participants came together to relax, breathe and care for themselves in support of the cause. Every bit of them was involved to release daily tension, stress and attain INNER PEACE with smooth breathing - true combination of physical and mental exercise. Ms. Sonal Ganatra hooked the parents in the fresh air to let go of daily life stress. This was such a stunning sight!! Parasympathetic mode. Great positive coping skills through body awareness. Parents enjoyed the bonding yoga with their kids.
DAY 5 It was a kaleidoscopic, paint-fueled feast to celebrate the fantastic festival of paint to wind up the "Thon" week unleashing creativity. The paint by number canvas grabbed everyone's attention, how creative the little ones were while they doodle and expressed their emotions freely as they visited various innovative paint stations. They went beyond chalk, crayons and paints. It was an antidote to anxiety and stress for all the PAINTATHONERS. Kidz Kollege is grateful to all the parents for their support and time to attend the "THON WEEK" and exhibit incredible dedication to be part of our shared vision to support the childhood cancer awareness. The kindness will make a huge difference to change the future for children with cancer. We all have a legacy to leave, you may not know the ripple effect it can have on the community at large, on the families you may never meet, but it has made an impact and it was the best feeling and the most rewarding thing to be involved in. Together we managed to spread awareness about childhood cancer and promoted an active lifestyle.
The KIBUBU campaign- (PIGGY BANKS) Kidz Kollege had given out piggy banks called the "TLM Kibubu" for children to gather funds for this cause. They were encouraged to involve family members, friends and neighbours as well in this campaign. The loose change they dropped in made a lot of difference in the lives of children with cancer. We are proud of all the advocates who dedicated their time and energy to make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer and we are thankful for a blissful life.
